Did you know that distant healing, or non-local healing, uses meditation methods?
It's been practiced since ancient times by Far Eastern healers and teachers as a spiritual healing art form.
Mystics in many of the world traditions have long recognized distant healing, using it as part of their meditative
practice.
Meditation has been called many things including, "practicing the presence". When used to heal, either by
spiritual intent such as prayer or in distant contemplation such as meditation, it is truly practicing the presence of
oneness.
Today, energy healing modalities like distant healing are being practiced in the West in response to patients'
preference. As we've witnessed modern Western medicine integrate with traditional Eastern medicine, we've seen the advent of
clinical trials on the efficacy of energy medicine, including distant healing1.
Thanks to the body of work by renowned physician, Dr. Larry Dossey, M.D., we can explore more about
how consciousness is involved in the healing process. Dr. Dossey writes of that unseen area and postulates that a new
language may be required for the successful merging of spirit with western medicine.
Since traditional western medicine must rely on empiracal data based in Neutonian physics and shies
away from loosely applied terms regarding distant or non-local healing, perhaps we are due for some new thought on how
to discuss this healing art form. This can be especially valuable while these forms are under examination in clinical

Yet people know, from the fire core of their being, that each of us is one with all life, without
needing the confirmation of Neutonian physics, or even quantum physics, to recognize this as fact: that we are
connected.

What does Non-local Healing have to

When you meditate, you're practicing a form of spiritual healing energy. And when a group
combines their energy, it's a powerful collective harmony. Especially when practiced
with intention provided by guided imagery and the invocation of cosmic forces. Then, the emanations of all seem
unified with everyone intending the direction of this stream of radiant energy into situations requiring healing, while
also serving to heighten each one's own personal experience.
While this may not precisely describe what is occuring at non-local levels, group
